LMT transformers for induction heating systems

Efficiency, stability and precision: Aselt Load Matching Transformers ensure perfect matching between generator and coil, optimising energy efficiency.

LMT (Load Matching Transformers) are a fundamental component of induction heating systems, as they provide impedance matching between generator and coil.

Aselt designs and builds high-efficiency LMT transformers for operating frequencies from 5 to 40 kHz, with planar windings and low-loss materials.

Function and operating principle

The LMT transformer optimises efficiency and keeps the voltage constant.

Through the right combination of windings, cores and magnetic materials, Aselt ensures field uniformity, lower losses and greater operating stability.

The main advantages include dynamic load matching, higher energy efficiency and constant control of the delivered power.

Construction and materials

Aselt LMT transformers are built with thin 0.05 mm ferromagnetic laminations and planar Cu+Ag 0.1% windings, which reduce parasitic losses and improve heat dissipation.

Construction features include high-resistance insulation with epoxy coatings, tinned or silver-plated copper connections, liquid cooling with integrated channels and a compact structure suitable for in-line or vertical installation.

Every transformer is individually balanced and tested to ensure phase balance and consistent efficiency over time.

Efficiency and thermal stability

Aselt transformers achieve efficiencies above 97%, with a uniform temperature profile even in continuous operation.

Liquid cooling reduces thermal variations and prevents deformation of the magnetic core.

Guaranteed results include a longer transformer life, frequency and power stability, less scheduled maintenance and lower overall energy consumption.

Testing and quality control

Every Aselt transformer undergoes complete electrical and magnetic testing, including impedance and inductance measurement, insulation and dielectric strength tests, full-load thermal verification and functional testing with an Aselt generator.

Test data is recorded in the IPC system to ensure complete traceability and CE compliance.

Industrial applications

Aselt LMT transformers are used in hardening and tempering systems, high-frequency brazing systems, localised heating of metal components and continuous and rotary heating lines.

Thanks to their modular construction, they can be integrated both into Aselt systems and third-party equipment, maintaining compatibility with different generators.

Integration in Aselt systems

LMT transformers work in perfect synergy with Aselt Power Units generators, coils, control panels with industrial PLC and the IPC supervision system.

This guarantees a complete, efficient and fully traceable energy cycle.
