Design and FEM simulation
Every coil starts from a FEM (Finite Element Method) simulation process, which analyses the magnetic field distribution and heating depth in advance.
This approach optimises the winding geometry, improves flux concentration, reduces Joule losses and ensures uniform, controlled heating.
Simulation allows the coil to be customised for the material, operating frequency and workpiece shape, avoiding costly physical testing.
Construction material – Cu+Ag 0.1%
Aselt coils are made of Cu+Ag 0.1%, a material combining high electrical conductivity with mechanical strength even at high temperatures.
Key characteristics include electrical conductivity above 100% IACS, mechanical strength up to 200 °C, low thermal deformation and a service life up to 20 times longer than pure copper.
This material allows more efficient energy transfer and less wear in continuous duty cycles.
Fluxtrol® magnetic flux concentrators
To increase the efficiency of our coils we use Fluxtrol® magnetic materials as flux concentrators, directing the energy exactly where it is needed.
Benefits include higher magnetic field intensity at the working point, lower lateral losses, faster and more uniform heating, and reduced energy consumption.
The concentrators are shaped and integrated inside the coil to maximise magnetic performance and improve heat treatment quality.
Construction and welding
Every coil is crafted by hand and brazed with a high-conductivity silver alloy to ensure solid, impurity-free mechanical joints. The windings are shaped according to the FEM specifications.
The main production phases include 3D design and FEM verification, bending and brazing, finishing and application of the Fluxtrol® concentrators.
Coil regeneration and maintenance
Aselt offers a complete coil regeneration service, extending the service life of the component and maintaining performance over time.
Regeneration includes internal cleaning and pickling, replacement of the magnetic concentrators, renewal of brazed joints and insulating coatings, plus comparative electrical and magnetic testing.
This service reduces operating costs and ensures production continuity, avoiding unexpected downtime.
